Online Copywriter – Schiphol
The Company
Our client is an initiative of an international travel group, European leader in the travel industry. Our client has an online travel community that collects and publishes holiday recommendations from people like you; A place where likeminded travellers exchange unbiased reviews and travel recommendations on where to go and what to do when on holiday.
Our client is an independent company and an open platform for all consumers and tour operators. The platform will generate revenues from selling advertising space on the site to travel companies. Our client is now launched in the Netherlands and will be rolled out to several other European countries this year.
The Job
We are looking for a highly motivated and web savvy Online Copywriter with the skills and creativity to produce and distribute high quality travel content for the website and for social media channels such as Twitter, Hyves and Facebook. The candidate should enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic internet start-up environment.
Role Purpose
- Create unique travel content and distribute it to social media, the blogging community and other online media channels.
- Keep our editorial content on the homepage and on our experience pages fresh and relevant for our users.
- Establish relationships with users, ‘followers’, travel and online industry experts and social network users.
Responsibilities & Skills
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the editorial content on the website and keep it relevant for users and advertisers.
- Maintain and produce content for the travel and news sections on the website by doing online research and executing user surveys.
- Find and establish relationships with independent travellers to contribute to the travellers’ blog.
- Maintain and produce content for our social media channels such as Hyves, Facebook and Twitter.
- Establish strong relations with consumer press, industry press (online and travel) and bloggers by feeding them with relevant news and information about our client and the online travel industry.
- Work closely with the online marketing manager and SEO manager to align activities and focus.
- Stay ahead of online media trends and possibilities with a special focus on social media.
Key Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Competencies
- Self-starter with excellent writing skills and a strong preference to work in the online media industry.
- 1-3 years professional experience, web editor or online marketing experience is a plus.
- Motivated to get things done and taking initiative where necessary
- Bachelor degree with hands-on mentality
- Ability to work in a fast paced, international work environment
- Native Dutch speaker and fluent written English.
